Day 1
Depart UK for your flight to Luxurious Lanka!
Day 2
Arrive Colombo aiport and greeted by your dedicated Tikalanka Tours chauffeur guide.
Transfer to Dambulla in the island's Cultural Triangle.
Arrive at Heritance Kandalama. Designed by Geoffrey Bawa, Sri Lanka's most famous
contemporary architect, the hotel was the first luxury eco-hotel built in Asia,
and it is set in its own 250-hectare jungle retreat with unimpeded views across
wetlands to Sigiriya rock fortress.

Day 3
Head to the medieval capital of Polonnaruwa
for a tour of its historic
temples and exquisitely carved statues. In the afternoon, enjoy a jeep
safari in Minneriya National Park

Early
morning ascent of the rock fortress of Sigiriya
to view the surrounding countryside at dawn
- a very special experience indeed. Tour of Sigiriya's rock palace and
ornamental gardens before climbing the granite massif at
Dambulla to
visit Sri Lanka's finest cave temples with their well-preserved paintings
and statues dating back to the 1st Century BC. Continue south to
Kandy,
one of the principal points of the Cultural Triangle. Arrive at The Kandy House,
which is a stunning heritage walauwa (mansion villa) dating back to 1803 and
tastefully refurbished to exceptionally high standards. Night stay

Day 6
Morning walking tour of Kandy, taking in the Buddhist monasteries
and Hindu devales (temples), the lake, and the municipal market.
After lunch, visit the beautifully kept and well presented Peradeniya Botanic
Gardens on the outskirts of Kandy. In the early evening,
enjoy a performance of the famous Kandyan
Dancers and Drummers, with a fire-walking finale.
Later in the evening, experience the Buddhist puja
(blessing ceremony) at the Temple of the Tooth, which houses Sri Lanka's most revered

Day 7
Leave Kandy and drive through Sri Lankan 'jungle' to the Bogawantalawa
valley in the western Hill
