How to use our online tailor-made holiday planner
Enter your email address, password, number in your party and your proposed
departure date into the “New Customer” log-in and click “Submit”.
Your registration details will be sent automatically to your email address.
Click “OK” on the pop-up – you are now logged in.
Choose your preferred departure airport and flight class from the drop-down
menus and then click “Continue” to activate your itinerary, which will begin
and end at Airport.
To begin planning your holiday, click "Continue" again,
or choose somewhere to stay near the airport. If selecting accommodation
at the airport, return to the "Start of Tour" page and click "Continue".
You are now on the navigation page, which has three functions:
- Large Map – allows you to create your holiday in Sri Lanka and the Maldives
by giving details of locations, sightseeing trips/activities and places
to stay when the location ‘hot-spot’ is clicked
- Small Map – plots your route around Sri Lanka as you create your holiday
- Itinerary – lists your choice of locations, sightseeing trips/activities
and places to stay on a day-by-day basis. The "Itinerary" has a "View" function -
for a more detailed overview of your holiday, "Save" - to allow you to save your
itinerary on our database, and "Help" - for more detailed instructions on how to use
the tailor-made holiday planner.

Creating your own holiday

Once on the navigation page, simply click on the ‘hot-spot’ next to the
location of interest to get details of sightseeing trips/activities and
places to stay in the area.
To select excursions and activities, choose from the “Sites of Interest / Activities”
drop-down menu and click “More Info” then “Add to itinerary”. Your chosen excursion/activity
will be added to your itinerary.
To select accommodation, choose from the “Places to stay” drop-down
menu and click “More Info”, then choose from the “Room Type”, “Meal Plan” and "No. Nights"
drop-down menus before clicking “Add to itinerary”. Your chosen place to stay
will be added to your itinerary.
To get a more detailed overview of your itinerary, click "View" at the top of your
itinerary listing. Another browser window will appear with more information on
the holiday you have created.
To save your itinerary on our database, click "Save" at the top of your itinerary listing.
You may return to your itinerary at anytime by logging in as an "Existing Customer" using
your email address and password. (If you close the navigation page by accident, DO NOT WORRY,
your itinerary will be saved automatically in our database!)
For more detailed instructions on how to use the tailor-made holiday planner, click "Help"
at the top of your itinerary listing.
Return to the navigation page to choose your next location – always using the
“Back to Map” button to return to the navigation page. Continue to add locations
to your itinerary, remembering to end your holiday at Airport.
After selecting “End of Tour” at Airport, submit your itinerary
for a price quotation. We will get back to you promptly with the cost
of the holiday you have created.
For your records, click "View" at the top of your itinerary listing and print
off the holiday you have created.
If you would like to delete excursions/activities and/or places to stay at anytime,
go back to the item you want to delete and click on it once. A red arrow and a bin icon will
appear next to it. Click on the bin icon and the item will be deleted from your itinerary.
Return to your previous position by clicking on the last entry in your itinerary – a red
arrow and a bin icon will appear next to it.
If you would like to add excursions/activities and/or places to stay at anytime,
go back to where you want to insert the item and click on it once. A red arrow and
a bin icon will appear next to it. Choose the location you want to add via the navigation
page as before and select an excursion/activity and/or place to stay. It will be inserted
after the red arrow. Return to your previous position by clicking on the last entry in
your itinerary – a red arrow and a bin icon will appear next to it.
If you would like to save your itinerary at anytime and return to it later,
click "Save" at the top of your itinerary listing.
(If you close the navigation page by accident, DO NOT WORRY, your
itinerary will be saved automatically in our database!) When you want to
return to your itinerary, access the
Tikalanka Tours’ tailor-made holiday planner as before and log-in as an
“Existing Customer” using your email address and password. Your itinerary will
reappear in front of you.
If you would like to create various holiday itineraries,
enter your email address into "New Customer" log-in but use different
passwords for each itinerary.
All of your itineraries will be saved and can be reviewed at anytime.
